Illinois residents who are fans of the Kardashian family – made famous by the family’s various reality TV shows – are no doubt anxiously awaiting the day when Kourtney Kardashian and her boyfriend, Scott Disick, walk down the aisle. Fans, however, may have to wait a bit longer as the couple argues over Kardashian’s request for a prenuptial agreement.
Disick is reportedly furious over the request. Kardashian, however, makes millions of dollars from the family’s reality shows and is acting in her best interests in seeking the prenuptial agreement. The couple have two children together – a son and daughter – and Kardashian’s main goal is to protect the futures of her and her children.
The couple has had their ups and downs. They currently attend counseling for various issues, but they now seem to be happier now than ever. And fans are hoping that talk of a prenuptial agreement does not delay the wedding any longer.
A prenuptial agreement is a contract that both parties to a marriage create, and they must agree upon the terms before the couple marries. A prenuptial agreement can do various things. It can differentiate between marital property and personal property. It can also assign debt and establish rules and procedures for major financial decisions.
Prenuptial agreements are used to protect assets of both parties. This type of agreement are often used when one person makes significantly more money than the other, which is the case in this situation. An agreement ensures that the other party can only have a certain amount of money if the couple were to divorce. A prenuptial agreement is also recommended if one party owns a business or significant employment benefits, such as stocks.
