Teaching Assistant’s Leg Injury Warrants Permanency Award

By Casey Woodruff

Attorneys Casey Woodruff and Daniel Klosowski’s recent victory on behalf of a Plainfield teaching assistant was highlighted in the December 11th, 2013 issue of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Law Bulletin. In that case, a teaching assistant was found to have suffered a 40% permanent loss of use of her leg. The special education teaching assistant was helping children onto a bus when she slipped and fell on ice. She suffered multiple fractures and underwent surgery. Our law firm first prevailed at arbitration and, then again, when the school district appealed the finding to the commission.

The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Law Bulletin is a trade publication that highlights noteworthy decisions in the workers’ compensation field.
